The Old Pogue Distillery is located at 716 W 2nd Street, Maysville, KY on the same grounds where the historic H.E. Pogue Distillery was located. We proudly produce small batch rye and bourbon whisky using the same ingredient combinations and methods found in the recipes of our forefathers. Our distillers, Paul Pogue and John Pogue, are fifth and sixth generation Pogues, respectively. The Old Pogue property includes the historic home of the Pogue family and an artisan distillery, complete with tasting room, grain holding, and barrel storage.
Our founder, George Garvin Brown, was born September 2, 1846 in Munfordville, KY. In 1863 he moved to Louisville to attend high school, and eventually became a pharmaceutical salesman. And it was that particular line of work that led him to create the First Bottled Bourbon™, Old Forester, in 1870.
We are a new riff on an old tradition, that tradition or theme being Kentucky Bourbon. Founded in 2014 by Ken Lewis, a visionary Kentucky liquor retailer and entrepreneur, New Riff is led by a team of corporate refugees ranging from craft beer to politics and more. New Riff crafts a range of whiskeys—Bourbon, Rye, and eventually Malted Rye and a host of specialty recipes—as well as Kentucky Wild Gin. Our mission is simple: to someday be counted among the world’s great small distilleries.
In 2005 Tuthilltown Spirits brought the tradition of small batch spirits production back to the Hudson Valley. Tuthilltown’s spirits, including whiskeys, vodkas, gins and other unique innovative spirits are among the first legally produced in New York since Prohibition. New York’s first Bourbon, HUDSON BABY BOURBON, is distilled from 100% New York corn. Our INDIGENOUS VODKA and HALF MOON GINS are produced from New York apples and wheat.
